APIIT – IEEE Student Chapter will be celebrating IEEE Day on 7th Oct 2014
Dear APIITians,
We are pleased to inform you that APIIT – IEEE Student Chapter will be celebrating IEEE Day on 7th October, 2014.
IEEE stands for the “Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers”. IEEE’s membership has long been composed of engineers and scientists. Allied professionals who are members include computer scientists, software developers, information technology professionals, physicists and medical doctors, in addition to IEEE’s electrical and electronics engineering core. Regardless of whether you are a student of CSE or EE/ME, you can be a part of this event and organisation and reap its benefits.
IEEE day is going to be held for the 5th time in history on 7th October 2014, a day when engineers worldwide will be celebrating the anniversary of the first time IEEE members got together to share their technical ideas in 1884. So this year we plan to give a stage for the budding engineers of APIIT SD INDIA, Panipat to share their ideas on this historical day.
Following events are going to be there on the same day.
1. Exhibition of Innovative ideas.
Are you the next Steve Jobs? Do you have a visionary eye to the future? Then this is the place to show case your skills. With the help of existing technologies around you, we want you to combine and build an innovative product out of it, which can be a mobile phone, cars or even related to networks, storing data etc.
Each participating team consists of a group of 2 - 3 members, each team would have to present two things on that day, an exhibit, which can be a model cut out from a thermocol or a cardboard and slides to present your exhibit to the students. Top 3 participants will be awarded with certificates and mementos.

2. Seminars on latest technologies.
Do you know about something which most of the other APIITians don’t? Then get ready to sharpen your presentation skills and some presentation slides to showcase it, because there is a wonderful opportunity knocking at your door to share that knowledge with the other students in our college.

3. IEEE Membership drive
Are you an IEEE member? If not this is made specifically for you. There will be a membership drive on the same day and those interested can sign up for an IEEE membership at discounted rates!

Those interested to be a part of the event, please sign up your name on or before 2nd October 2014 by simply sending us an email consisting of your name, intake and name of the team if it is a group event to ieeesc@apiit.edu.in. Participation certificates will be issued to all participants.
